DeKalb Barbs

The DeKalb Barbs are the athletic teams of DeKalb High School in DeKalb, Illinois. They compete in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 4A.

The Barbs chose the nickname "Barbs" in reference to the city's barbed wire manufacturing industry. DeKalb is known as the "Barbed Wire Capital of the World," and the barbed wire industry played an important role in the city's development. The Barbs' mascot is a barbed wire bulldog, and the school's colors are orange and black.
