Charleston Battery
The Charleston Battery is a professional soccer club based in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 1993, the Battery are one of the oldest continuously operating professional soccer clubs in the United States, and they are a member of the USL Championship.
The Charleston Battery are named after the Battery, a historic seawall and promenade in Charleston, South Carolina. The Battery was built in the early 1800s to protect the city from attack, and it was also a popular place for people to socialize and enjoy the views of the Charleston Harbor.
