Charleston Alley Cats
The Charleston WV Alley Cats were a minor league baseball team that played in the South Atlantic League from 1995 to 2004. They were affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds from 1995 to 1998, the Kansas City Royals from 1999 to 2000, and the Toronto Blue Jays from 2001 to 2004. The Alley Cats played their home games at Watt Powell Park in Charleston, West Virginia.
The Alley Cats chose the nickname "Alley Cats" in reference to the city's many alleyways. The team also wanted a nickname that would be fun and memorable for fans.
