The Hoopeston Area Cornjerkers are the athletic teams of Hoopeston Area High School in Hoopeston, Illinois. The name "Cornjerkers" is a reference to the town's long history of corn farming. Hoopeston is known as the "Sweetcorn Capital of the World," and cornjerkers were the people who harvested the corn by hand before the advent of mechanized farming equipment.
