Indiana Hoosiers Football Preview 2023
The Indiana Hoosiers are looking to bounce back in 2023 after a disappointing 2022 season. The Hoosiers finished with a 3-9 record, including a 1-8 mark in Big Ten play.
There are a few key players who will need to step up for Indiana in 2023 if the Hoosiers want to have a successful season.
- Tayven Jackson is the new starting quarterback for Indiana. Jackson transferred from Tennessee after starting four games for the Volunteers in 2021. He threw for 1,056 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions in his limited action at Tennessee.
- Cam Camper is one of the top receivers in the Big Ten. Camper caught 59 passes for 770 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. He is a big-play threat who can take any reception to the house.
- Josh Henderson is the leading returning rusher for Indiana. Henderson rushed for 722 yards and four touchdowns in 2022. He is a physical runner who can break tackles and gain yards after contact.
The Hoosiers also have a strong defense returning in 2023.
- Micah McFadden is one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten. McFadden led the Hoosiers with 107 tackles in 2022. He is a big-play defender who can make plays in the backfield.
- Troy Brown is another key player on the Hoosiers defense. Brown had 74 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2022. He is a versatile defender who can play multiple positions.
The Hoosiers have a tough schedule in 2023, but they have the talent to compete with some of the top teams in the Big Ten. If Jackson can play well at quarterback and the Hoosiers can get some production from their running game, they could be a surprise team in 2023.
