FIU Panthers Preview 2023
The FIU Panthers are looking to build on a 5-7 record in 2022. The team returns a number of key players, including quarterback Grayson James, running back Brandon Smith, and wide receiver Jalen Bracey.
James threw for 2,200 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2022. He will be looking to build on that success in 2023. Smith rushed for 700 yards and five touchdowns last season. He will be a key part of the Panthers' running game. Bracey caught 50 passes for 700 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. He will be a top target for James in the passing game.
The Panthers also have a number of talented players on defense. Linebacker Noah Harvey led the team with 100 tackles in 2022. Defensive back Keion Smith had four interceptions.
The Panthers open the 2023 season at Louisiana Tech on August 26. They also have a challenging road schedule, with games against Middle Tennessee, UTEP, and UAB.
I predict that the Panthers will win 6 games in 2023. They have the talent to be a bowl team, but they will need to stay healthy and avoid any major upsets.
