Bowling Green Falcons Preview 2023
The Bowling Green Falcons are looking to build on a strong 2022 season in which they went 6-6 overall and 4-4 in Mid-American Conference play. The Falcons return a number of key players, including quarterback Connor Bazelak, running back Andrew Clair, and wide receiver Justin Marshall.
Bazelak, a transfer from Indiana, threw for 2,312 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2022. He will be the clear starter at quarterback in 2023, and he will be looking to lead the Falcons to a winning season.
Clair is a two-year starter at running back for the Falcons. He rushed for 800 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. He will be the team's top running back in 2023, and he will be looking to break the 1,000-yard mark.
Marshall is a big-play receiver for the Falcons. He caught 48 passes for 785 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. He will be one of the top receivers in the MAC in 2023, and he will be looking to break the 1,000-yard mark.
In addition to Bazelak, Clair, and Marshall, the Falcons also return a number of other key players, including wide receiver Quintin Morris, tight end Ben VanSumeren, offensive lineman Noah Satterwhite, and defensive back Demetrius Hardamon.
The Falcons will face a tough schedule in 2023. They will play against Power Five opponents Michigan and Georgia Tech, as well as MAC opponents Toledo, Ohio, Miami (Ohio), and Buffalo.
However, the Falcons have the talent to compete with any team in the MAC. If they can stay healthy and play up to their potential, they could be a dark horse to win the conference championship.
