2023 Army Black Knights Football Preview

2023 Army Black Knights Football Preview

The Army Black Knights are coming off a 9-4 season in 2022, their best record since 2017. They return a number of key players, including quarterback Christian Anderson, running back Jakobi Buchanan, and wide receiver Tyrell Robinson.

Anderson is a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 2,158 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2022. Buchanan is a powerful running back who rushed for 1,265 yards and 13 touchdowns. Robinson is a big-play receiver who caught 56 passes for 807 yards and 6 touchdowns.

The Black Knights' defense is also experienced, led by linebacker Andre Carter II and defensive back Christian Leggett. Carter led the team with 100 tackles in 2022, while Leggett had 4 interceptions.

Army's schedule is challenging in 2023, with games against Navy, Air Force, and Oklahoma. However, the Black Knights have the talent to compete with anyone.

Key Players

Team Statistics

  • Overall record: 9-4
  • Offensive yards per game: 386.6
  • Defensive yards per game: 318.0
  • Points scored per game: 28.6
  • Points allowed per game: 20.2

Prediction

I predict that the Army Black Knights will win 8-9 games in 2023. They have the talent to compete with anyone, but their schedule is challenging. I think they will finish second in the West Division of the American Athletic Conference.
